This week being pregnant started to really, really not be…
Pregnancy after bypass: Week 19 pregnancy diary
This week started off as a day at home with my sick little guy. It was nice that I got a bit of a rest because I needed it. I’ve started to notice the size of my tummy and it getting in the way this week and I felt the baby moving heaps which was awesome! This week the baby is the size of a mango.
My week started off looking after my unwell five year old. He had been sent home from school the day before so I took him to the doctor. He ended up needing steroids so I’m glad I took him! Mummy guilt kicked in a little bit because I didn’t think he was that bad. We chilled at home for the day and I even managed to get some study done which was good.
The next morning, we had stuff to do so we went to the mall and got it all done and then I had a coffee catch-up with my favourite weight loss surgery buddies and it was nice to be able to sit down and have a good chat for a couple of hours. Then on Sunday we went to my in-laws for lunch/dinner, so for us that was basically a quiet weekend!
The rest of my week wasn’t too bad. Work is chugging along well and I had a busy week after work with a coaching session and a Skype call with one of the tutors and other students from my diploma course. I managed to get heaps of study done in the evenings, I was going to bed later than normal but it’s worth it. I finished all of the internal work needed for this intake of my diploma! I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for this intake of study, it’s been hard at times but I’m getting there.
I felt the baby move quite a bit this week. Usually in the evenings if I’ve been sitting still for long enough I will feel it move or during the day if I’m sitting hunched over then I’ll feel it move. It’s really cool and brings a whole new feeling of connection with the baby. For ages now I’ve known I was pregnant and apart from the mild physical pregnancy symptoms I’ve had there’s been no real physical indicator that there’s a baby in there.
How far along? 19 weeks now. I am only a week away from being halfway!
How big is the peanut? About the size of a mango!
Total weight gain/loss? This week I gained 1.1kg. It’s really started to ramp up and I need to calm down with the amount of snacks I’m having.
Maternity clothes? I got a couple more pairs of Jeanswest maternity jeans this week. They’re all that fits and are comfy and I needed more than two pairs, it’s tough drying them quickly in winter.
Sleep? Has been a bit all over the place this week, some nights good some nights restless.
Best moment this week? Feeling the baby move more and more.
Gender? I have my anatomy scan booked for next week and we are planning on finding out, I cannot wait to see what this baby is! Come back next week to see if I get my wish of a girl!
What I miss? I’m really missing caffeinated coffee. If there was one thing I want to not be pregnant anymore for it’s that. Decaf isn’t bad but it’s just not the same.
What I’m looking forward to? Finding out the sex of the baby next week. It’s starting to feel like I’ve been pregnant forever and I can’t wait to see what they are.
Milestones? One week off being halfway, so can’t wait to hit 20 weeks.
Bump? It’s there and seemingly getting bigger by the day!
