Melissa Loses It is Three!
Well how about that, time has flown by and now my little old blog is three! I really didn’t know what to expect with my blog when I launched it, if I was going to get bored and give up after six months and I wondered if anybody would actually ever read it. This is the 300th post on my blog! How nice and serendipitous is that?
Thank you all so much, each and every one of you who reads my blog. It’s an absolute pleasure and honour to be alongside you in your bariatric journey and I sincerely hope something I’ve written helps you along your own path. We all approach and do things differently and my posts are from my perspective with the life experience I’ve had so far. We can all learn from each other and the more we share, the richer in knowledge we all will be.
Knowing that I’m somewhat putting myself out there as an example is a great way to keep me on the right track because I want to be a good example and show long-term success after gastric bypass surgery. This is another thing I need to thank you for, you’re all keeping me accountable and it’s awesome.
After three years I’m still having ideas to write about, although I have to admit the further away from surgery I get and the more ‘normal’ this life feels to me, the harder it is to come up with new ideas. Having my pregnancy to write about last year introduced a new element to my blog and it’s nice to have a record of that for anyone who is wanting kids after weight loss surgery.
I’m not sure what the next year of blogging will bring for you all. I’m still in the haze of having a small baby who sucks up a lot of my time, hopefully I will get back to my twice weekly posting schedule sooner rather than later. Very soon, I will be doing the last bit of my coaching diploma so hopefully some wonderfully motivating words will form into some great posts to keep us all reaching for the next goal. I’ve also got a bit of weight from having the baby to lose and I think I should talk about that, getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight is going to be a big focus of the next year.
Good luck to you all for your next year. I hope it brings you all success, no matter where you are in your journey. If there’s anything you’re wanting to hear me talk about get in touch and let me know. You can email me from the contact page here on my website or you can contact me though social media (the links are in the top right-hand corner). Is there a post I’ve written that you’ve really related to? Comment below and let me know which one it is, I’d love to hear from you!

Happy Blog Birthday!! What a great milestone! 😀
Thank you lovely!
Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary! I very much enjoy reading your blogs. I am 9 months out from having Gastric Sleeve surgery and while a different procedure to yours the journey is similar. I particularly enjoy your product reviews. A VSG forum that I participate in is based in America and the products are usually not available in NZ. My partner and I love the Nothing Naughty protein bars and they are a staple in our cupboard for an easy protein fix when pushed for time or if out and about and the available food is not appropriate.
Thanks for taking the time to write and I hope that you are able to continue.
Thank you for your kind words Lucy! I’ll keep going, I’m not sure I’ll ever run out of things to say 😂😂
Congratulations Melissa. Your blog gas been a mainstay of my post bariatric journey and i gave recommended to so many others. You’re a constant source of inspiration and support.
Thank you Nerida! It’s been awesome getting to know you and see your amazing transformation and journey xx
